  • 粒線體結構生理學於老化相關疾病之研究
           台灣,以及世界的趨勢,正邁入老化的社會。粒線體功能喪失是產生老化和與老化相關疾病的決定性因素之一。粒線體生產能量和許多必須的生物分子。它的生物功能和獨特的內外模及脊模構造息息相關。特殊的粒線體模構造和粒線體DNA及蛋白分佈使多種反應得以有效率的執行。
           我們的研究目標是了解老化導致生理失調的機制: 觸及分子、細胞及個體層面。我們計劃釐清粒線體的三維超微結構及生物分子分佈,在發育及老化情況下的改變。我們利用「電子顯微鏡斷層攝影術」、「螢光電顯關連攝影術」和「免疫電子顯微術」,來研究細胞、果蠅及老鼠相關模式系統。

    治療性抗體結構與作用機制之研究
           治療性抗體是對抗病毒感染及癌症治療的重要方法。中和性抗體可辨識病毒抗原而抑制其感染能力,或是辨識癌細胞抗原進行標靶治療。抗體-抗原複合體結構關聯其作用機制。我們利用「電子顯微鏡及影相重組技術」,解析抗體-抗原複合體的三維結構,以分析抗體-抗原決定簇結合的分子作用,釐清抗體結構與作用機制的關聯,以作為登革熱、流感病毒及乳癌抗體開發改良的基礎。
