研究方向展開收合

(a) Evolution of complex life cycles.
How genomic information regulates the development of planula, polyp and jellyfish stages and what was the ancestral cnidarian body plan?

(b) Molecular basis of evolutionary novelties.
How novel body plans, structures, cell types and genes emerge? What is the function of "novel" genes?

(c) Stem cell systems in cnidarians.
What are the similarities and differences in the organization of stem cell systems in Cnidaria? What is the molecular basis of unlimited life span in Hydra and scyphozoan polyps?

(d) Development of transgenic technology for cnidarian models.
Better understanding of pattern formation and cellular fates by using fluorescent markers.
