2026 ICOB Poster Competition

2026 ICOB Poster Competition

The 2026 ICOB poster competition will be held on November 5th. Poster competition offers a great chance to interact with colleagues and to encourage young researchers to attend academic seminars. Please submit your English abstract before 17:00, October 16th, 2026 through link: https://forms.gle/8KSQyQ5TX8rzyXz69

Procedure: On the competition day, all posters should be set up before 10 am on the first floor (Poster board: wide 90cm* height 120cm). To encourage interactions among ICOB members and contestants themselves, we will invite all ICOB members to join the activity from the morning of the competition day. Contestants will be divided into 2 groups according to their poster numbers (odd/even). Contestants should present their poster at the scheduled time of their group in the morning (Odd number: 10:00-11:00; Even number: 11:00-12:00) so they may have the chance to interact with other contestants during the non-scheduled time. All contestants should present their posters from 13:00-14:30 for PI evaluation. In addition, a 5-minute oral presentation power point is highly recommended for every presentation.

Evaluation: The evaluation will be conducted in 2 ranking-based phases. In the preliminary phase (13:00-14:30), ICOB PIs will serve as judges and select 2 posters from each poster group for the 2nd phase. The list of contestants advancing to the 2nd phase will be announced before 15:00. In the 2nd phase (15:00-16:00), each contestant will be given 5 minutes, for English oral presentation (including Q and A) in the auditorium. Please prepare PowerPoint slides for a 5-minute “flash talk” in advance. All PIs are judges in the 2nd phase.

Judging and weighting criteria
1st phase: abstract (30%), research merit (30%), poster design (20%), presentation skill (20%).
2nd phase: research merit (60 %), presentation (40%, including time control, ppt design, etc.)

For Most Popular Poster Award evaluation, ICOB students, research assistants, and postdocs can participate as a judge (except for PIs). Each member will receive 5 stickers on site to vote for their favorite posters on the voting board from 14:00 to 14:40. Contestants shall NOT vote for himself or herself, and people shall NOT vote for the same poster more than once.
